Car wreckers Artarmon when a repair decision becomes a sale

If a repair assessment has changed your plans for a car, Active Dismantlers can discuss buying it. We assess old, damaged, broken-down, scrap and junk vehicles from Artarmon owners, as well as unwanted cars that still run.

Explain the make, model, year and what the repairer has found. Include any work already carried out and whether components have been removed. The vehicle can be assessed in its current condition without you commissioning further repairs solely to request a quote.

Tell us its location and whether it can roll and steer. Where the car remains at a workshop, agree with them how it can be released before collection is confirmed. We can discuss the vehicle offer and access requirements in the same enquiry.

If repair remains your choice, send us the part specification instead. We check used components for owners and repairers, from individual fittings through to engines and transmissions.

Can I request a quote using an existing repair assessment?

Include those findings with the vehicle details and current condition. They help describe the enquiry, but the offer still needs to be confirmed for the actual car.

Must I complete work that has already started?

Not simply to enquire. Explain the state of assembly, removed parts and whether the vehicle can move on its wheels so assessment and collection can be discussed accurately.

Agree on who will release the Artarmon vehicle

Our Sydney car wreckers can discuss collection from the address where the vehicle is held. For an Artarmon workshop or private property, nominate the person who can provide keys, access and the agreed handover information.

If it is at a repair business, check its release arrangements and opening hours before confirming a collection. Tell us whether it is assembled, on its wheels and ready to be reached. Detached parts included in the sale should be identified separately.

At a residential address, explain whether access involves a garage, gate or shared driveway. For street parking, describe signs and available approach. The team needs to review those details rather than rely on the street number alone.

Confirm the offer, included components, payment arrangements and any transport costs. Clear belongings from the car and have ownership information ready. A requested day becomes a collection booking only when the team confirms the plan.

  1. Describe the condition

Share known faults and the vehicle's current assembly state.

  2. Confirm the contact

Identify who can release the car and provide access.

  3. Agree on the handover

Settle price, payment, collection costs and timing.

Can the mechanic provide access while I am at work?

Discuss that arrangement with both the workshop and our team. Access, keys and the required sale information need to be confirmed in advance.

Are parts removed for diagnosis included automatically?

Confirm which items belong with the sale and where they are stored. The assessed vehicle and collection instructions should describe the same components.

Engine bay and mechanical components

Used replacements for a clearly identified repair

For Artarmon repairs, we take requests for used mechanical assemblies, electrical components, lighting, panels, mirrors and interior fittings. Give us the identified component, not only a description of the fault, so the correct replacement can be checked.

Makes include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota and Subaru, with other manufacturers welcome. Include the model, year and variant alongside the required specification.

Your mechanic can provide a part number, engine code or other identification relevant to the job. Confirm what accessories come with an assembly and which fittings are separate. Used components can cost much less than new items; condition, demand and rarity affect each quote, with availability confirmed for the individual request.

Can the repairer provide the part details directly?

Yes. They can supply the required specification and identification. Confirm who is ordering and receiving the item so the arrangements remain clear.

Can you diagnose a fault from the parts enquiry?

The enquiry is for availability and matching information. Have a repairer identify the fault and required component before ordering a replacement.

Tools used for automotive maintenance

Coordinate the supplied item with workshop receiving

Paid delivery to an Artarmon repairer needs the receiving address, contact and hours. Confirm unloading facilities for heavy assemblies before freight is arranged. Small eligible items can travel by courier, while engines and large panels may require truck delivery. Batteries and tyres are not sent by courier.

Qualified staff check and test our used parts, and employees remove the components. Customers cannot pick or dismantle their own parts. If collecting, confirm the particular item's condition and readiness before travelling.

Agree on the part price and separate freight charge before ordering. We accept returns for faults and items supplied incorrectly. We do not offer change-of-mind returns for customer ordering errors, or an additional voluntary warranty. Applicable Australian Consumer Law rights remain unaffected.

Should a fitting appointment depend on an unconfirmed parts request?

Confirm stock and supply arrangements before treating the part as available for a repair date. Coordinate the booking with the workshop after those details are agreed.

What should the repairer retain if there is a supply problem?

Keep the order details and explain the issue to the team before arranging a return. Those details help distinguish a fault from an item supplied differently to the order.
